Wedding Announcement of Mollie and David Romness

Mollie Katherine McGee and David Christopher Romness were married on March 10, 2007 at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas.

The bride is the daughter of Richard and Bonnie McGee of Garland, Texas.

She graduated from Garland High School in 1999 and from The University of Texas in 2003 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish. She is currently a teacher in Round Rock ISD.

The groom is the son of Mark and Nancy Romness of Charleston, South Carolina.

He is a 1995 graduate of J.J. Pearce High School, a 2002 graduate of the University of Texas, where he earned a bachelor of science in Advertising, and a 2006 graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law. He is now the Legislative Director for State Representative Tracy O. King.

The wedding was officiated by Reverend Richard McGee, the father of the bride.

The maids of honor were Megan McGee and Melissa Moorman, both of Dallas, Texas. The bridesmaids were Meredith Clark of Austin, Texas, Sarah Gaeke of Austin, Texas, Emily Grigsby of Austin, Texas, Kristin Romness of Charleston, South Carolina, and Stephanie Thompson of Austin, Texas.

The bride's gown had an ivory chiffon bodice with beaded embroidery, a sweetheart neckline, and an A-line ivory chiffon skirt. The gown was designed by Mori Lee.

The bride's attendants wore tea-length berry colored satin dresses complemented by an ivory satin sash. The dresses were designed by Bill Levkoff.

Music before and during the ceremony was provided by Robert Suder of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

The best men were Ben Cahalane and Zach Thomas, both of Dallas, Texas. The groomsmen were Justin Berry of Birmingham, Alabama, David Burke of Charlotte, North Carolina, Richmond McGee of Pasadena, California, Trey McLean of Austin, Texas, and Travis Phillips of Dallas, Texas.

As the families were seated, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring was played on the organ. The unity candle was lit by the fathers of the bride and groom. The procession of the groom and wedding party was set to the music of Canon in D. The father of the bride walked the bride down the aisle to the tune of the Bridal Chorus. Rachel Shaheen, future sister in law of the bride, read scripture out of Ephesians and Ruth. Mark Romness, father of the groom, read 1 Corinthians 13 and gave a greeting and prayer. The bride and groom said traditional vows and rings were exchanged. The wedding recessional music was the Wedding March.

The reception was held at The University of Texas Alumni Center. The dinner consisted of fruits, cheeses, artisan breads, mashed and sweet potato bar, and stuffed chicken roulade.

Entertainment was provided by Tunes Across Texas. The bride and groom's first dance was to "The World Exploded Into Love" by Bob Schneider. The bride and her father danced to "My Girl" by the Temptations. The last dance was, appropriately, "One for My Baby" by Frank Sinatra.

The Sweet Stuff created bride and groom cakes. The bride's cake was a 4-tiered white chocolate raspberry flavored white cake decorated with platinum colored ribbon. The groom's cake was in the shape of the famous University of Texas tower.

The newlyweds will honeymoon in Santorini, Greece in July.
