SoCo Mural Vandalized

Monday, during the Austin Triathlon, I noticed that the mural on the Mi Casa building has been defaced with what is called "pasteup art". I live just a block away from SoCo and I've photographed clients there several times. I photographed Stephanie in front of the mural during her bridal session last year. The vandal(s) have been pretty busy as you can see from their other work up and down the block and they even left their tag so it shouldn't be too difficult for the police to track them down. The mural was painted by Russell W . Reid, Assoc. AIA, Urban Texture International, INC. in 2004. [Red Texture Studios](http://www.red-texture.com) is home to Kathleen Grandfield. She was the model for the woman in the other portion of the mural which faces South Congress. She lives in Austin and you can read her blog at [La Vida Cocoa](http://lavidacocoa.blogspot.com). Stephanie's Trash the Dress Session

Stephanie and her husband Brian are both UT grads. So when Stephanie told me that she would love to get some shots with the UT tower I knew right where I wanted to take her to get the perfect photos. A Trash the Dress photo session is held after the big day when the bride isn't as worried about getting her dress dirty before she sends it to the cleaner. We hope that all of our brides will consider giving their dresses to charity or to other engaged women who might not have the means to afford a new dress of their own; there are several charities that will gladly take the wedding dress and rejuvenate it for another bride. After photographing on campus we continued her session at [Pots and Plants](http://www.plasticpinkflamingos.com/) where the owner, Pat, has displayed dozens of pink flamingos on the front lawn for years. It was a ton of fun and we had a hilarious time with Stephanie in her beautiful recycled wedding dress; her best friend had worn it and gave it to Stephanie for her wedding!

We had an amazing time with this shoot. These are just a few of my favorite shots that we got of the models from [Hem Jeans](http://www.HemJeans.com) whom provided the clothes for the fashion show/ fund-raiser for [Team Hotel San Jose's](www.TeamHotelSanJose.com) youth riders. Hotel San Jose is a great place to stay when visiting Austin or when you simply need a break. Also, [Hotel San Jose](http://www.sanjosehotel.com) the coolest website that I've ever seen. Their website was created by the visionaries at [Coloring Book Studio](http://www.coloringbookstudio.com) and their located right here in Austin. But turn your speaker volume down before visiting, I just got my ears blown out by a laser gun sound effect! They make awesome use of video in their site designs so check them out.

Vicki called me because she wanted portraits of her instructors and a fun photo for her holiday cards. I took my portable light studio to the Body Springs studio. Pearson Family Session Under 360

Victoria is a good friend and when she mentioned this spot under the 360 Bridge, also known as the Pennybacker Bridge, I suggested that we all go down for an impromptu family photo session. So we packed up the whole family and found this great spot where the bridge hangs so beautifully over the water.
